The Exodus was the first time since Creation that God came down, not for a short visit, but to dwell among His people. The Exodus saw the dawn of a new calendar and era. Israel crossed the Red Sea at night, and by daybreak was free. Israel's great sin was to keep wanting to go back to Egypt, despising God's freedom and choosing slavery. It still is! We need another Exodus.
